PhilJets starts the year with one more Airbus H130 order

PhilJets Group has signed-up an order with Airbus Helicopters Southeast Asia for the acquisition of one more brand new Airbus Helicopters H130 (formerly “EC130 T2”) scheduled for delivery in June 2016.

In the course of the previous year, PhilJets already placed an order for a brand new H130 and is renewing its confidence in the H130 as the helicopter of choice to boost it’s the expansion of its operations. “As a fast growing aviation start-up, our ambitious growth strategy needs to be fully supported by one of the most efficient, reliable and versatile aircraft on the market,” said Thierry Tea, CEO of PhilJets Group. “This recent order for one additional H130 will help us achieve our expansion plans in a sustainable manner.”

This aircraft will be operated by PhilJets Aero Charter Corp, the group’s air transport subsidiary, in order to sustain its activities. It will offer to PhilJets’ charter subsidiary some increased capacity especially in catering to corporate clients, and high-end tourists as well as an efficient support for specific aerial works (medical evacuation, cargo-sling transportation for mining, construction of roads, power lines and telecom towers inspection and maintenance)

With this helicopter acquisition, PhilJets Group will now operate a fleet of five H130’s, one AS350B2 and will add one more pre-owned B4 to its fleet to count eight aircrafts within 2016. The growing Filipino group is expecting to manage and operate about $US 20M in assets this year.

The H130 is a member of Airbus Helicopters’ renowned Ecureuil family. It’s a high-performance, multifunctional, single-engine helicopter that can offer many possibilities for operators, thanks to its powerful engine and wide, flat-floor cabin which can accommodate an array of equipment to provide outstanding mission flexibility.

“The H130 is a highly versatile helicopter which will provide a cost-efficient solution to meet the needs of this country, from infrastructural development, passenger transport to helitourism,” said Yves Poesy Managing Director of Airbus Helicopters in the Philippines.

During the latter part of 2015, PhilJets - who successfully obtained its AMO license (Aircraft Maintenance Organization)- has now started to service aircrafts directly in-house, and is capable of providing a complete range of aviation services. The company is authorized to engage and perform maintenance works on commercially and privately operated aircrafts. In parallel to this certification, the company also renewed its AMDC license (Aircraft Material Distributor Certificate) and can supply local operators with consumables and parts.

Carrying on its intention to become a Business Aviation reference in the Philippines and Asia, PhilJets Group, who celebrated its 3rd Anniversary on January 8th, is now working on the development of the industry’s standards within the Philippines. Developing shared services and Business Process Outsourcing in the aerospace sector is part of the company next steps as well as the implementation of an aerospace school and a business aviation club to contribute to position the Philippines as an aviation hub.

This acquisition of a new H130 helicopter paired with all 2015 achievements are a further affirmation of PhilJets’ growth strategies, and a significant milestone for the company. It highlights the willingness of PhilJets to become a market leader for Charter and Management services in the South East Asia region.
