Mega vaccination site opens in Nayong Pilipino

A mega vaccination site at Nayong Pilipino was formally opened last Thursday, August 12, to serve Filipino citizens from Metro Manila and its neighboring provinces. The site is located along the New Seaside Drive in Parañaque City that currently holds eight ambulatory vaccination centers and 30 drive-thru booths that have the capacity to vaccinate at least 15,000 persons a day. Around 50,000 doses of the government-procured Moderna vaccine will be distributed in the first rollout with health workers from both Parañaque City and the private sector spearheading the mega vaccination site. Executive Vice President Christian Gonzalez of the International Container Terminal Services said that appointments would only course through the LGU of Parañaque City. He further said to reporters during the launch of the site that, “We as part of the private sector group are only participating in terms of funding and organization, but this sits on government land and it will remain a government land and it will be operated under the guidance of the national and city government.” The Nayong Pilipino Foundation was previously involved in a controversy after its former chief opposed the project over environmental concerns.
