The French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Philippines (CCI France Philippines) held the 2018 Business Awards Night last June 7, 2018 at the Mayuree Ballroom of Dusit Thani Manila Hotel, Makati City. In line with the celebrations of CCI France Philippines’ 30th anniversary, the annual awards ceremony aims to showcase and recognize the excellence of the companies representing the French and Filipino business community in their respective industries.
The Business Awards Night is also held by different French Chambers of Commerce present around the globe. The CCI France Philippines Business Awards Night is linked to the CCI France International Business Awards in Paris under the high patronage of Emmanuel Macron, President of the Republic of France. Winners in the Philippines will be eligible to enter the CCI France International competition in Paris. For CCI France Philippines, the event focuses on recognizing the contributions and noteworthy performances of both French and Filipino companies under six (6) major award categories such as: Best Environmental Practices, Communications, Food & Beverage, Creative CSR, So French!, and Entrepreneurship.
CCI France Philippines’ President Isabelle Nilo opened the awards night by highlighting the high quality applications received by CCI France Philippines for this year’s awards and celebrating business excellence across all industries. The awards night was also graced by Teresita Sy-Coson, Chairperson of Banco de Oro Unibank, Inc, who delivered the Welcome Remarks. The event gathered over 100 guests to witness and acknowledge the success and innovation of French-Philippines businesses. Vanessa Hans, CCI France Philippines’ Managing Director formally introduced and started the awards ceremony with the presence of Dusit Thani Manila’s executive chef, Rob Van Leeuwen who presented the menu for the night: a four-course French Filipino fusion dinner prepared for the special event.
The awarding started with the Food & Beverage Awards headed by Helen Baisa of Charmant Ingredients. The winner was Paris Delice, a restaurant that caters specifically to the corporate world by providing well-balanced meals. Head of jury for the Best Environmental Practices award Sheila Lobien of Jones Lang La Salle Philippines briefly discussed the breakthroughs and commitment of the finalists for the sustainability of the environment and awarded it to Air Liquide Philippines, Inc. for their oxygen wastewater treatment plant that is a first in the Philippines. The Entrepreneurship Award was presented by Marie Antoniette Mariano of Banco de Oro Unibank, Inc. and awarded KMC Solutions for breaking office occupancy norms by providing co-working spaces and flexible services to their clients and employees.
After the awarding of the first three award categories, the crowd was serenaded by singer Bea Lorenzo as they enjoy the food prepared by Dusit Thani. Resuming the ceremony, the So French! Award was presented by Laurent Estrade from the Embassy of France to the Philippines - Economic department. The award was given to Moet Hennessy Philippines for their world-renowned and unique wines & spirits that caters to both the French and Filipino taste. The Communications Award was presented by head of jury Jos Ortega of Havas Media Ortega and awarded it to Teleperformance for successfully launching “We Are Teleperformance”, a values-based and data-driven campaign designed strategically for their target audience. And for the special prize of Creative CSR Award, Elodie Turpin of the France-Philippines United Action recognized Essilor Manufacturing Philippines, Inc. for their EMPI Community Project: Give Light to Kids Life through reaching out to the less fortunate and to those who have no access to visual correction by doing visual examinations, refraction, orientation in doing visual care and distribution of eyeglasses. The event was closed by H.E. Nicolas Galey, Ambassador of France to the Philippines and Micronesia by recognizing the talents and efforts made by the finalists and winners and celebrating their excellence and commitment in their industry.
The event was a success through the support of the Embassy of France to the Philippines as well as the event co-presenter, Banco de Oro Unibank, Inc., minor sponsor Banque Transatlantique and the trophy sponsor 3D Crystal.
