The Story Behind the Soirée Beaujolais
Beaujolais, situated in the southern part of France, is known for light red wines made from Gamay grapes. This name may sound familiar as the famous Beaujolais Nouveau Day is celebrated every November in France and all over the world. Such is the popularity of this tradition as it marks the harvest of the young wine. Although it is important to note that on top of the Beaujolais Nouveau, a variety of other wines are being produced in the Beaujolais wine region.
The French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Philippines is proud to highlight the French presence in the Philippines and has embodied the Beaujolais tradition, along with other French Chambers across the world, through the annual event: Soirée Beaujolais. Indeed, since 1990, French Chamber has been celebrating with the French and Filipino community as well as local and international business groups the country’s grandest French event of the year.

Voulez-vous Beaujolais avec moi à Versailles?
After “Tradition and Innovation” (2014) and “Food and Wine Festival” (2015) themes, in 2016 the French Chamber has looked into French history with “Versailles”.
World heritage, the Palace of Versailles constitutes one of the most beautiful realizations of the French art in the 17th century. Located 16 kilometers south-west of Paris, Versailles was the residency of the most important Kings of France and famous historical French figures are related to this symbol of glory.
Such is the case for Marie-Antoinette, Louis XVI’s spouse. A fascinating character, known for her frivolity and associated with all type of scandals, she inspired a lot of artists so well that nowadays, more than 20 movies and documentaries have been dedicated to her.
